Ever had something you were looking forward to, but it was so far in the future that you forgot about it over time? That’s what happened to me with a gaming documentary I backed on Kickstarter almost three years ago, Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler. The nice thing about forgetting about those long awaited events is that when they finally roll around, it’s like Christmas morning! Well, Ho! Ho! Ho! As of June 24, 2016, Man Vs. Snake has made its long-awaited debut and is now available for digital download.
Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler is “the epic story of the first billion-point video game score…and the ongoing quest for arcade greatness!” This film by directors Andy Seklir and Tim Kinzy follows Tim McVey (No, not that guy) on his quest to regain his title on a little-known classic arcade game named Nibbler. The Nokia Snake-like game has a surprisingly passionate following in the classic gaming culture that includes one very intense adversary who also wants to stake his claim on the game. While it is impossible to not draw comparisons to the popular gaming documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Man vs Snake stands on its own as a story not solely about a video game, but rather a of a man with a desire to overcome challenges and cement a lasting legacy.
Winner of the Jury Award for Best Documentary Picture at Fantastic Fest and others, Man vs Snake is a true story that is both inspirational and fun. Whether you’re a fan of classic gaming, uplifting human interest stories, or just documentaries in general, be sure to check out this new twisted tale. Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler is available for digital download on Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, Playstation, Xbox, Steam, and Google Play.
